PowerPoint night

(We actually used Google Slides, but whatever)

Anyways, two of my best friends and I had a PowerPoint presentation night, and I saw this as a great opportunity to fully introduce them to the guys from Menahat xD

I think it’s unfair how (slightly) little attention I give to Beht compared to the other two, but his genderbent version has me head-over-heels. I think I need to compensate.

Some comments I remember:

• One of them feeling bad for Gorrik in that opinions chart with the bros, he's the only one with positive comments about the other two
• They've been Pokemon fans, especially in middle school, stated that the bros were so Team Rocket coded x'D
• Something along the lines of "How did we go from this to that?!" when discussing Beht and the female version I created from him x'D
• (If I remember more comments, I'll add them)

I wonder what words Gorrik is even referring to when he doesn't get what Jeena's saying xD

Probably one of Gorrik's limitations in getting the job done

I just had the thought that Gorrik isn't too keen on doing really hurtful things unless he's really convinced that he should, or unless he doesn't reach his full potential. Sure he can knock someone out if asked nicely, but it's just not his kind of thing. However, if he's drunk enough, then he wouldn't have second thoughts -- kind of like that one fight scene in Naruto with Rock Lee.

I think these guys are basically "we have Team Rocket at home" mixed with "we have TF2 at home"

What the hell is he even wearing...?

I still don't know after all these years. Is Beht wearing overalls, or is he wearing a set of matching vest and pants?! 

Here's another thing to add to the 'Why they're my favourites' page xd

Honestly, the fact that Zig, Beht and Gorrik - of all the characters I've liked ever - are my absolute favourites is so amusing to me. They're three forgotten randos from Spectrobes Origins. They're characters whose designs have been ripped from NPCs from the previous games. They're likely the only fictional men I've ever obsessed over and will ever obsess over, and yet I'm a lesbian. It's kinda crazy! xD

These guys are three of my most favourite characters ever, but it's not because I find them attractive, precious, wholly relatable to my real life bonds or myself, or super in-depth and analysis-worthy. Instead, it's because they're just funny to me, I enjoy trying to make them interesting, and they fall under a bunch of my favourite character tropes.
(If anything, I'll admit the only times I ever felt a little "carried away" was when I would sometimes draw female Beht, but I digress xd)

Those three wouldn't die for me. I probably wouldn't die for any of them, either. I don't even think we'd make good friends. (Except with Gorrik though, maybe xD)

So, I guess you could say the biggest reason I like them so much is because of this kind of pure joy.

So, now that I've pretty much finished recording dialogue up until after defeating Darkroe, I think that's it. That's all the shady three-man team have to offer. It makes me sad that it's over, but WOW, look at the character development. When Zig said his line here, I literally let out a massive "AWW!"

Here's what he says:

"You smacked down that latest Krawl, too? Truth is, I thought you were a couple of worthless chumps the first time I laid eyes on ya. But just look at ya now!"

Now I can finally draw Rallen & Jeena being buddies with these guys without thinkinking it's not canon :D 

And it's kinda funny too, since Zig goes all the way from butting heads with our protagonists, to acting a little "tsundere" (examples 1, 2) to where we are now xD

I envy the brothers, sometimes

Sometimes I really envy the bond that the bears have with each other. And also the way that I interpret Zig, Beht & Gorrik's bond. No matter how much they argue, they're always fine in the end and it's easy for them to help each other. Sometimes, it's not with me and one of my brothers, though. Sure, we get along most of the time, but it really feels like we're really incompatable when it comes to dealing with my more bad traits. At least everything goes well in the end, but it's a pretty bad feeling.

Teamwork

Zig

• The leader. He makes the plans. He keeps the team in shape. He's the brain and everyone else is the body.
• He also gets called "aniki" by Gorrik in the Japanese release, which I think is awesome (I wish they kept something similar to that in the English one). 
• He's not the type to just laze around, though. If he wants in on the action, he'll join. 
• He also probably has the best relationship with Dyrus out of the three of them. (and by "the best", I mean that Dyrus doesn't think he's as stupid as the others)

Beht

• The guys would make him responsible for all the stuff that requires book-smartedness (leave the logic to Zig, though)
• Weird mechanism? Beht checks it out. Old, rusty device? Leave it to Beht.
• Although he can't keep a secret any better than Gorrik, he'd try to put his charisma to use in *attempts* to do some social distractions and acrobatics. Like, be some homme fatale or a even a femme fatale since (at least, by some players) he's mistaken for a woman because of his stance/posture and the vagueness of his identity
• He's probably the most fearless of the three (not brave, but he abnormally lacks a sense of danger). He'll swagger past a "CERTAIN DEATH AHEAD" sign and try to prove you that things aren't all that bad. See?

Gorrik

• Clearly, he's supposed to be the muscle of the group. He'll push boulders for you. Dig holes for you. 
• Although he may seem like the "good" one of the three, he probably wouldn't skip a second if he was ordered to punch the lights out of someone or something that gets in their way
• He's also what the guys use as "bait", who the guys put on the front lines
• Also used as the team's official meat shield 😔

Sorry this blog hasn't been so active! There's just been a sudden drop in ideas lately... But no matter what, these guys still have a special place in my heart <3

My brother mistook my lineart-only drawing of Beht for my OC Eyn

I don't even blame him. Look at this:

Fun Fact: Beht's design similarities to Eyn is one of the reasons why I gravitated towards the three shady guys in the first place!

These guys totally deserved a cutscene

They seriously did. I mean, I'm pretty sure they had just as much importance to their planet's arc as the other minor/side characters on their respective planets. 

But, then again, Menahat did have the most side characters. Like, 5 (6, if you count Krux's moments) is a lot compared to 2 and 1 in the other planets. Neal and the giant fish krawl really did steal the spotlight, too, and they both were pretty important to Menahat's arc. And plus, I've got no idea about the budget the team had to allow any more cutscenes (animation, voice acting, etc.), but still, I stand by my statement xD
